SSG ALEX VIOLA FOUNDATION DONATES TO MILITARY ORGANIZATIONS FOR 3RD YEAR IN A ROW

Keller, Texas – December, 2017

On January 25, at the Keller City Town Hall, the SSGAVF will be donating two separate checks in the amount of $15,000 to both the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, in honor of Keller resident Alex Viola, a Staff Sergeant with the US Army Special Forces who was killed in action on November 17, 2013, in Afghanistan.

The money was raised through the 3rd annual SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show presented by Statewide Remodeling, and took place on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2017. The event raised over $30,000. The show drew 270 classic cars and several hundred spectators to the Saturday event. Some of our finest military heroes were recognized and presented with the SSG Alex Viola Warrior award. The special award recipients included; Chief Petty Officer George W. White (WWII), Staff Sargent Derwood “Woody” Beard (WWII) and Lt. Col. Logan Fitch (Vietnam).

The SSGAV Foundation was established in August 2015 to honor Staff Sergeant Alex Viola, who lost his life to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while defending his country in Shah Wali Kot, Afghanistan; and also to provide support for fallen and wounded Special Operations Warriors and their families. One of Alex’s last requests was to support the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Our mission is to fulfill his wishes and support these two amazing organizations in Alex’s name.

“The SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show is one of the most significant military events of the year providing needed support to our warriors”, Frank Manzare, EVP at Statewide Remodeling.

Over the past two years, the SSG Alex Viola Foundation has donated close to $50 000 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Green Beret Foundation with the money raised from its annual car show, dedicated to the memory of Staff Sergeant Alex Viola, a member of the US Army Special Forces.
